I believe in finding inspiration everywhere, and utilizing the community that’s available to you online. There is SO much talent out there - it can be easy to get overwhelmed or discouraged sometimes. But it can also be incredibly inspiring.

I’ve compiled some of my go-to lettering resources to help you get started or continue your learning!

  • #HOMwork is a fantastic weekly challenge hosted by the amazing Lauren Hom. I would highly recommend signing up as a way to flex your skills regularly and join a great community of online artists!

  • Jessica Hische is like, my lettering idol and is basically the queen of letters. She offers a number of lettering courses via Skillshare. She also has an awesome book called In Progress, showing some of her designs from sketch to vector.

  • My favourite lettering book I’ve purchased so far is Mye De Leon’s Mastering Hand Lettering. She shows full alphabets as well as the sketch-to-final process which I really liked.

  • Stefan Kunz is a mega-talented lettering artist who offers a number of online tools you can purchase to enhance your lettering and help out if you’re stuck on a layout design.

  • Mary Kate McDevitt is an amazing, illustrative lettering artist who teaches some great classes on Skillshare, and also has a few lettering books!

KIDDING, obviously.
